BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Following models of FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT
Floor lamp, inspired by the "Taliesin" model.
Cherry wood.
In very good state of preservation.
Measurements: 210 x 37 x 37 cm.
Floor lamp inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin series, made in cherry wood. The Taliesin series has its origin in the iconic residence and workshop that Wright designed in 1911 in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Conceived as an example of "organic architecture," Taliesin grew out of the hill, integrating with the landscape, not over it. Over the course of his life, Wright rebuilt Taliesin three times (Taliesin I-III), making it his personal home, laboratory of ideas, and studio space.
The chandelier reflects this architectural philosophy: its composition is defined by a vertical arrangement of planes and negative spaces. Overlapping wooden volumes create a visual rhythm and controlled architectural tension, while warm light filters between each level, highlighting the structure above the ornamentation. It is a luminous expression of geometric discipline and modernist clarity, capturing the spirit of Wright's works on a domestic scale.
Frank Lloyd Wright is considered one of the great architectural masters of the 20th century. An American architect, interior designer, writer and educator, he designed more than 1,000 structures, of which 532 were completed. His approach proposed that buildings coexist in harmony with people and the natural environment around them, a philosophy known as organic architecture. A pioneer of the Prairie School movement, he also developed the concept of Usonian housing. In 2019, eight of his works were declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco, consolidating his legacy as one of the most influential architects of modernity.
