Modular five-piece "Patate" sofa produced by Airborne in France in the 1970s. Newly upholstered in "Chroma" Toffee velvet by Pierre Frey, its presence envelops the space in a warm, deep caramel hue.
Composed of four modules and a corner, it unfolds like a real quilted landscape. Its low, close-to-the-ground silhouette accentuates that sense of refuge and freedom.
Generous proportions, deep seating and channeled stitched upholstery, which divides each cushion into four soft sections, reinforce its enveloping character. With no visible legs or rigid lines, the whole flows smoothly, prioritizing comfort, adaptability and a casual elegance that defines the spirit of seventies design.

Airborne was founded in France in 1951 by Jacques Dumond and quickly established itself as one of the most innovative publishers of modern French design. From its beginnings, the house opted for lightweight materials, advanced industrial techniques and a functional aesthetic aligned with the technological optimism of the post-war period. During the 1950s and 1960s, Airborne collaborated with visionary designers and produced iconic pieces that are now part of international collections. In the 1970s, the brand evolved towards freer and more experimental forms, reflecting the cultural changes of the time: more informal, modular and comfort-oriented interiors.
The "Patate" sofa belongs precisely to this moment of creative maturity. It represents the transition from structural modernism to a more sensorial conception of furniture, where the body and the spatial experience become the center of the design.
