The "Flexible Love" is one of the most unique proposals of contemporary design in the field of eco-design. Conceived by Taiwanese designer Chishen Chiu, the project stems from pioneering research into recycled materials applied to structural furniture, anticipating many of the environmental concerns that now dominate global design discourse.
Made of recycled cardboard in honeycomb honeycomb structure and laminated to ensure strength and durability, the seat unfolds by means of an accordion folding system that allows it to expand in a curve. This technical solution, as simple as it is innovative, transforms the object into a versatile piece capable of functioning as an armchair, modular bench or sculptural element adaptable to the space.
The strength of the design lies in its balance between material experimentation and real functionality: lightness, low environmental impact and structural capacity are integrated in an organic form of great visual presence. The rigid lacquered wood sides reinforce the stability of the whole and underline the contrast between the fixed structure and the flexible body.
