A true icon of 20th century Italian marble design, the Eros console represents one of the most brilliant and refined structural solutions conceived by Angelo Mangiarotti. Designed in the 1970s and produced by the Italian firm Skipper, this piece synthesizes engineering, sculpture and functionality in a single constructive gesture.

The Eros collection is characterized by its hardware-free assembly system: the top rests and fits by gravity on the truncated cone-shaped legs by means of a millimetric conical adjustment, carved and polished by hand. This structural principle, visible in the circular detail of the meeting between top and support, turns the marble itself into a load-bearing element, eliminating any mechanical artifice.

Formally, the tabletop adopts an organic silhouette with lobed ends that softens the monumentality of the material. The black marble, crossed by irregular veins, reinforces its sculptural character. The tapered legs create a perfect balance between mass and visual lightness.

Angelo Mangiarotti was a key figure in Italian modernism, renowned for his mastery of materials and his ability to transform stone and marble into contemporary forms of great sculptural elegance.

Angelo Mangiarotti collaborated with numerous Italian industrial firms and received important distinctions, such as the Compasso d'Oro alla Carriera in 1994. His work is now part of the collections of international museums such as the MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
