Original lamp designed by Javier Mariscal around 1980 in collaboration with the firm Camper. The piece fully responds to the visual language characteristic of the Valencian designer during the years of renewal of Spanish design in the late twentieth century.
The structure is made of die-cut cardboard sheets assembled to create a vertical volume decorated with free-form graphics on a blue background, accompanied by geometric and chromatic elements. The serrated side and the stepped base reinforce its playful and experimental character, while the interior houses a point of light that transforms the piece into a functional object located between sculpture and graphic object.
Javier Mariscal is one of the most influential Spanish designers and creators on the contemporary scene. He began his career in the field of underground comics during the seventies in Barcelona, later developing a multidisciplinary career that encompasses graphic design, furniture, illustration, interior design and animation.
Among his best known works is the creation of Cobi, the official mascot of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, as well as numerous design and interior design projects and collaborations with international firms.
