BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Floor lamp, 50's-60's
In the manner of JEAN TOURET (France, 1916-2004).
In wrought iron.
In good condition. Original patina according to its age.
Electrification in operation.
Measurements: 162 cm (height); 20 x 30 cm (base).

Floor lamp of marked architectural conception made of wrought iron with original patina, whose design refers to the language of French handcrafted furniture of the mid-twentieth century. The vertical structure of quadrangular section rises from a rectangular base and develops a lateral arm that supports the cylindrical lampshade, creating a composition of great formal sobriety.

The structural clarity, the direct reading of the material and the handcrafted character of the iron evoke the vocabulary developed in the environment of the Atelier Marolles, a workshop founded by Jean Touret and known for its pieces of strong sculptural presence and expressive construction in metal.
