The "Champagne" chair stands out for its futuristic Space Age aesthetics and the innovative use of industrial materials. It is made of translucent molded plexiglass with a central aluminum base, creating a light and enveloping silhouette that seems to float on its support.
Erwin and Estelle Laverne were American designers active especially during the 1950s and 1960s. They founded the New York firm Laverne Originals, known for its innovative furniture and the incorporation of materials such as Plexiglas, resins and polished metals. Their designs, with a strong sculptural and futuristic character, are related to the aesthetics of the Space Age and to the material experimentation of post-war American design.
