DESCRIPTION
Attributed to MARCO ZANUSO (Milan, 1916 - 2001)
Pair of armchairs, 1950s.
Wooden internal structure, metal legs and textile upholstery.
In good general condition.
Measurements: 72 x 95 x 98 cm (each).
Elegant pair of Italian armchairs from the 1950s, attributed to Marco Zanuso, whose design is fully inscribed in the language of the master and in the renewal of post-war Italian modern furniture. Their enveloping forms, with armrests and backrest integrated into a continuous volume, prioritize comfort and respond to an organic conception of seating.
The typology and the volumetric treatment refer directly to the designs that Zanuso developed for Arflex at the beginning of the decade, especially to emblematic models such as the "Lady" (1951), where the relationship between ergonomics, technical innovation and formal expression is explored.
