DESCRIPTION
MARIO SABOT (Italy, 20th century).
Lounge chair, 1970s
Chromed steel frame and textile upholstery (Pierre Frey).
Recently reupholstered. In very good general condition.
Measurements: 70 x 75 x 100 cm.
This lounge chair designed by Mario Sabot in the 1970s is a clear example of Italian design oriented to comfort and formal expressiveness. The piece is articulated by a continuous chromed steel structure that envelops the volume of the seat, creating a silhouette that is both light and graphic.
The large, enveloping cushions define the character of the armchair, designed for prolonged relaxation. The recent upholstery in Pierre Frey fabric, in a warm tone, enhances its presence and updates the piece while respecting its original spirit.
The contrast between the coldness of the metal and the softness of the upholstered volume reflects the balance between technique and comfort typical of 1970s design, resulting in a piece with a strong personality and great decorative value.
