Geometric composition lamp made of metal profiles of square section, combining polished chrome and golden brass finishes. Architectural structure of crisscrossed volumes, characteristic of the productions attributed to Romeo Rega in the 1970s.
Romeo Rega was an outstanding Italian designer of the 20th century, trained as a blacksmith in his family's artisan environment, which marked his mastery of wrought iron; after opening his own workshop in the 1940s and founding his studio in 1957, he developed a prolific career especially in the 1960s and 1970s, creating furniture and decorative objects - such as tables, consoles and lamps - characterized by the use of luxurious materials such as brass, chromed steel, glass and methacrylate, and by a style that combines modern geometry with influences of Hollywood Regency glamour and Italian modernism; Their pieces, mass-produced but with a strong artisan imprint, achieved great recognition in their time and today are highly valued in the vintage design market as emblematic examples of the elegance and sophistication of post-war Italian design.
