These chairs show a balance between functionality and aesthetics, with soft lines and carefully studied proportions, characteristics that reflect the training and sensibility of their creator.
Oswald Haerdtl, was an influential Austrian architect, designer and teacher. After studying at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna, where he was a student of Oskar Strnad and Josef Frank, he trained in architecture and design with a strong orientation towards modernity and functionality. He collaborated with Josef Hoffmann, designing integral projects such as the terrace-café of the Werkbund Exhibition in Vienna in 1930, where he took care of everything from the interiors to the cutlery.Haerdtl developed a modern architectural language based on the simplicity of forms and the balance of volumes, influenced by international movements such as De Stijl. After World War II, he played a key role in rebuilding the architectural and design landscape in Austria, participating in the renovation of Viennese cafés, industrial exhibitions and furniture projects, always with a holistic approach that united interior design, objects and spaces.
