DESCRIPTION
ANTONIO LARICCIA for Tercobar.
Set of decorative panels, 1976.
Wood and ceramic.
Measurements: 208 x 58,5 x 5 cm.
Set of decorative panels designed by Antonio Lariccia for Tercobar in 1976. Made of wood and ceramic, these panels stand out for their vertical format and their fragmented composition in tiles. Both pieces represent a landscape dominated by stylized branches traversed by birds, treated with a pictorial language that evokes the oriental tradition, but reinterpreted from a modern sensibility.
Although biographical information on Antonio Lariccia is limited, he was active in the Italian design scene during the 1970s and 1980s. Tercobar was a leading Italian firm in the production of decorative ceramic tiles and panels during the 1960s and 1970s. The company specialized in collaborations with artists and designers to create pieces that transcended the conventional use of tile, turning it into an artistic medium. Its products, characterized by the quality of its glazes and the richness of its designs, reflect an era in which ceramics took on a leading role in interior decoration, especially in Europe.
