The piece stands out for its sculptural volume and the quality of the blown glass, masterfully worked to generate transparencies, reflections and smooth transitions of light. Its design evidences a subtle Art Deco inspiration, reinterpreted from the sensibility of post-war Italian design. The lines, although elegant and geometric in essence, are presented here as more fluid and organic, moving away from classical rigidity to adopt a lighter and more contemporary aesthetic. Murano glass, the absolute protagonist, acts not only as a light diffuser, but also as an expressive material.
Founded in 1962 near Venice, Leucos was born with the aim of updating the tradition of Murano glass by incorporating new technologies and collaborations with contemporary designers. Its production is characterized by the combination of artisanal techniques, such as glass blowing, with constant formal and material research, which allowed the firm to position itself as a benchmark in lighting design. Over the decades, it has worked with important creators and has developed pieces that today are considered icons of Italian design, always maintaining a balance between innovation and tradition.
