BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

MAISON CHARLES (France)
Coffee table model "Flying Horses", France, 1970s.
Brass, bronze and glass.
In good condition, with wear according to age and use.
Measurements: 40 x 120 x 120 cm.

Elegant coffee table produced by Maison Charles in the 1970s. The design is articulated around four stylized equestrian figures arranged in the corners, which act as sculptural elements and support of the set.

The combination of noble materials and the reinterpreted classically inspired decorative treatment give the piece a sophisticated and distinctive character, typical of the French luxury of the period. The use of polished brass, in contrast to the patina of the bronze, reinforces its visual presence, while the glass top allows the composition to be fully appreciated.

Founded in Paris, Maison Charles established itself as one of the most renowned French design houses of the 20th century, standing out for its refined creations that combine tradition, fantasy and excellence in execution, present in important international collections.
