Anna Anselmi's "Yucca" table mirror is a very characteristic object of Italian postmodern design: it consists of a metal structure (lacquered steel and chrome) with a low, stable base from which four chrome-plated arms or tubes emerge, ending in visible bulbs, creating a very direct frontal illumination; in the center is a rectangular mirror that rotates, tilting. The set, usually in black and chrome, combines an industrial and "high-tech" aesthetic with a playful and futuristic air close to Memphis, making it both a practical object and a very expressive piece of design.
Anna Anselmi is an Italian designer and artist linked mainly to the design of objects and the field of decorative design in the twentieth century. She is best known for pieces such as the table mirror "Yukka" (circa 1980), an object with integrated lighting that combines functionality and a formal language very typical of Italian design of that time, close to the experimental and decorative. Although she is not as much of a media figure as other contemporary Italian designers, her work appears in auctions and vintage design collections, indicating that she is part of the Italian design scene of the second half of the 20th century, especially in domestic objects with an approach between the functional and the sculptural.
