BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

CONSTANTINO CORSINI (Italy, 20th century) & GIORGIO WISKERMANN (Italy, 20th century) for Stilnovo.
Spinnaker" lamp, 1968.

With stamped seal Stilnovo.
Measurements: 64 x 44 x 18 cm.

The Spinnaker lamp is characterized by a light and dynamic aesthetic inspired by nautical sails (hence its name), with a slender metal structure supporting a tensioned or paneled textile diffuser that seems to unfold in space; its shape suggests movement and tension, creating a sculptural yet airy presence, while the light filters gently through the material, generating a warm and diffused illumination that reinforces its elegant and evocative character, very much in line with the experimental Italian design of the time.

Constantini Corsini & Giorgio Wiskemann were a design duo active mainly in the 1960s and 1970s, known for their collaboration in the field of furniture and lighting design. They worked together on various projects, often linked to innovative Italian companies of the time, and their output reflects the spirit of Italian design at the time: modern forms, use of industrial materials such as metal and plastic, and a clear functional orientation combined with an elegant and experimental aesthetic. Although they did not achieve the fame of other more mediatic names, their pieces are representative of contemporary Italian design in the mid-20th century.
