DESCRIPTION
FEDERICO CORREA (1924-2020) & ALFONSO MILÁ (1924-2009) for Gres.
Set of four chairs. Produced in the 1970s.
Rattan.
Measurements: 84 x 58 x 38 cm.
Set of 4 rattan chairs, designed by Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá in the 1970s and produced by Gres. A refined example of the Mediterranean design of the time, where traditional craftsmanship and modernity coexist naturally.
Its light and open structure, entirely made of rattan, highlights the value of manual dexterity through a careful and nuanced weave. The comfort, together with its material warmth, makes these pieces especially versatile seating, capable of integrating into contemporary interiors or environments with a more organic and relaxed vocation.
This model was part of the imaginary of the most advanced Spanish architecture and interior design of the 1960s and 1970s, being common in projects that sought to introduce a fresh aesthetic linked to the Mediterranean environment. The upholstered version achieved special notoriety when it was incorporated into the interior of the emblematic restaurant Il Giardinetto, one of the most iconic spaces of Barcelona design.
A set with a strong historical and aesthetic identity, increasingly appreciated by collectors and interior design professionals who value authenticity and craftsmanship.
