DESCRIPTION
CARLO NASON (Italy, 1935) for Selenova.
Table lamp, 1970s.
Three hand-blown Murano glass tubes of different heights, joined by a brass piece.
Three points of light.
Very good state of preservation.
Measurements: 65 x 28 x 28 cm.
Table lamp designed by Carlo Nason, consisting of three tubular bodies of hand-blown Murano glass, arranged at different heights and joined at the base by a piece of brass.
The staggered arrangement of the three tubes generates a dynamic, almost sculptural composition, in which formal simplicity is combined with the quality of craftsmanship typical of the Murano tradition. The chandelier reflects the interest of Italian design in the 1970s in integrating traditional techniques, such as Murano blown glass, into lighting objects with a modern language.
Carlo Nason belongs to a historic family of Murano glass masters. He developed his career as a designer specializing in lighting, collaborating with leading Italian firms such as Mazzega, Selenova or Murano Due.
