Spain.

Measurements: 47 × 54 × 83 cm.
The design of these four chairs combines a clear constructive rationality with a marked material warmth. The structure, based on vertical uprights and horizontal crossbeams, provides stability and visual lightness, while the new lambskin upholstery introduces a soft, enveloping texture that updates the ensemble without altering its original character.
They reflect Vilanova's interest in functional furniture, honest in its materials and adapted to the domestic environment. His formal language, close to Nordic design but rooted in the local cabinetmaking tradition, is evidence of the designer's importance in the renewal of post-war Catalan interior design and furniture.
Vilanova is renowned for his mastery of woodworking and his contemporary reinterpretation of Mediterranean tradition. He trained in the Busquets workshop, later collaborating with Lluís Gili. He was awarded the Delta de Plata Prize (ADI/FAD, 1964) for the Delta stool. His work is represented in the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, and among his most renowned designs are the Tiracord and Billar chairs, as well as the Tartera and Petit rocking chairs.
