Attributed to GIANFRANCO FRATTINI (Italy, 1926 - 2004)
Sideboard. Italy, ca. 1970.
Walnut wood.
Front with four side doors and six central drawers.
Good condition. Vintage product without functional defects, with possible marks of use.
Measurements: 75 x 250 x 54 cm.
Sideboard in walnut wood attributed to Gianfranco Frattini, whose design refers to the sober, architectural and constructively refined language characteristic of the author. Piece of marked horizontality and symmetrical organization of the front, with lateral modules of doors and a central body of drawers.
The attribution is based on the quality of the woodwork, the compositional cleanliness and the attention to functional detail, which are common features in Frattini's production. The integrated oval handles, the small metal knobs and the raised base with arched supports add lightness and distinction to the whole.
For its scale, material nobility and formal refinement, this sideboard is part of the Italian design of the seventies, where functionality, elegance and constructive precision are combined with particular balance.
Gianfranco Frattini was an Italian architect and designer, trained at the Politecnico di Milano. He collaborated with Gio Ponti and developed an extensive career in furniture and lighting design for firms such as Cassina, Bernini, Arteluce, Artemide and Knoll.
