Pair of table lamps. Italy, ca. 1970s.

Measurements: 35 × 25 × 25 cm.
Pair of table lamps designed by Luciano Frigerio, made of brass with textile shades. The design combines the geometric purity of the cylinder with a fluid ornamental detail, characteristic of Frigerio's language and his conception of the object as a signature piece. The warm glow of the brass reinforces its sophisticated presence, while the textile shades balance the composition and provide soft, ambient light.
Luciano Frigerio, in the post-war period, transformed the family workshop into a firm of national and international renown, in contact with architects such as Franco Albini, Carlo De Carli, Sergio Asti and Paolo Portoghesi. His most characteristic contribution was the Mobili Scultura concept, pieces that combined function and sculptural presence through the expressive use of fine woods and metals. In the 1970s he consolidated his success with several stores in Italy, including one in Milan's via Montenapoleone. Today his designs are appreciated by international galleries and collectors.
