Articulated wall lamp made of brass and red lacquered metal, representative of the sophisticated French post-war design. Its light and geometric structure, equipped with an extendable arm and double cone shade with perforations, clearly reflects the influence of the formal language developed by Robert Mathieu during the 1950's.The combination of brass with patina and the original vibrant red lacquer provides a strong visual presence and a marked sculptural character. The perforations on the perimeter of the shade generate soft, atmospheric lighting, creating delicate effects of light and shadow in the environment. Its ball-and-socket joint system allows the light to be precisely directed, integrating functionality and design in a piece of refined modernist aesthetics. A lamp of great personality, ideal for interiors that seek decorative accents with character and sophistication.
Robert Mathieu was one of the most prominent French lighting designers of the post-war period. His designs are often characterized by clever use of perforated metal, double conical shapes and high quality brass joints, competing in style and quality with contemporaries such as Pierre Guariche or Serge Mouille.
