DESCRIPTION
Murano wall sconce XL; Italy, 60-70s.
Murano modeled glass.
In very good overall condition. Glass with no visible missing parts or noticeable cracks. Slight signs of use consistent with the age.
Measurements: 65 x 14 x 9 cm.
Imposing wall sconce made of thick Murano molded glass, vertical rectangular format with smoothly rounded ends. Its surface has a rich ribbed texture in relief, which enhances its sculptural presence and its extraordinary play of light.
The translucent glass incorporates a refined internal work of bubbles and striations, creating a captivating optical effect that intensifies when the piece is illuminated. The lower cable outlet is discreetly integrated into the glass body itself, following the most refined technical solutions of Italian design of the time.
Of great aesthetic strength, this piece is part of the Italian design language of the mid-twentieth century, close to the creations of firms such as Venini, Mazzega or designers like Carlo Nason. Its geometric purity, together with the material-luminescent richness of Venetian glass, gives it a sculptural presence of great architectural impact, ideal for contemporary interior design projects or highly decorative spaces.
