The “Swan” armchair, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for Fritz Hansen, is one of the most iconic pieces of mid-20th-century Danish design. Originally conceived for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the model stands out for its enveloping and organic silhouette, where the seat, arms, and backrest merge into a single fluid form, without straight lines or a visible frame.

This edition, produced by Fritz Hansen in 2011, features red leather upholstery and a swivel base made of aluminum, preserving the original design’s characteristic balance between sculpture, ergonomics, and modernity. The rich color of the leather accentuates the piece’s iconic presence, reinforcing its decorative character and visual impact within any contemporary interior.

Arne Jacobsen was an architect and designer, a key figure in Danish functionalism and 20th-century international design. His work combines architectural precision, formal elegance, and an extraordinary attention to the human scale. Designs such as the “Ant,” “Series 7,” “Egg,” and “Swan” chairs are part of major international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Design Museum Denmark, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
