The P60 "Proposals" armchair and ottoman, designed by Vittorio Introini for Saporiti in Italy, represent one of the most emblematic expressions of Italian space-inspired design of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their distinctive wrap-around silhouette, combined with vibrant leather upholstery, reflects the futuristic optimism and formal experimentation that defined an era marked by the exploration of new aesthetic languages and materials.
Vittorio Introini (1935-2023), an architect and designer trained at the Politecnico di Milano, developed a body of work that stood out for the integration of individual creativity with a deep understanding of the technical and expressive possibilities of contemporary materials. His collaboration with Saporiti resulted in innovative pieces that transcended mere functionality to become true design statements.
The P60 model synthesizes this vision through generous volumes and organic lines that offer an exceptionally comfortable seating experience. The ottoman complements the ensemble, reinforcing both its functionality and sculptural presence. The orange leather, in addition to providing a strong visual identity, underscores the bold, avant-garde character of the piece.
Today, the P60 is considered an icon of Italian space-age design and a highly prized piece by collectors and lovers of signature furniture. Its timeless aesthetics and quality of execution make it an outstanding example of Introini's talent and Saporiti's ability to produce designs that marked a generation.
