The Rabarbaro floor lamp, designed by Carlo Giorgi for Bottega Gadda, is a sculptural piece that transforms lighting into a poetic experience inspired by nature. Its structure is articulated by large hammered brass leaves that unfold in space like stylized plant growth, filtering the light and casting soft golden reflections that change according to the point of view. The carefully hammered brass work reveals the artisanal imprint of the process, bringing texture, vibration and an almost living feel to the surface. The result is a piece that oscillates between sculpture and lighting.
Carlo Giorgi, trained at the Politecnico di Milano in industrial design, developed from the beginning a solid technical background that encompasses drawing, computer-aided design and three-dimensional modeling. This training, together with his early participation in exhibitions and projects in the field of Italian design, allowed him to consolidate his own language characterized by the search for a balance between innovation, functionality and formal sensitivity. Throughout his professional career in Milan, Giorgi collaborated with reference studios and participated in furniture, lighting and industrial product projects, progressively refining an aesthetic recognizable for its purity, geometric rigor and elegance of materials. His work has been widely recognized in the international circuit of contemporary design, with presence in exhibitions, museums and specialized forums.
The Rabarbaro lamp accurately summarizes this evolution: a piece where formal research meets material expressiveness to give rise to an object with a strong sculptural identity. Its vegetal inspiration is not limited to an aesthetic reference, but becomes a structural principle that defines its form and its interaction with light.
