The Series 7™, created by Arne Jacobsen in 1955, is one of the most recognizable designs in postwar Danish furniture. An evolution of the research begun with the Ant chair, its characteristic continuous shell takes advantage of the structural possibilities of molded plywood to create a piece that is exceptionally lightweight, flexible, and durable. The 3117 version brings this iconic silhouette into the workplace with a swivel base that is height-adjustable and equipped with casters.

A leading architect and designer of Scandinavian modernism, Arne Jacobsen developed some of the most influential designs of the 20th century for Fritz Hansen, including the Ant, Series 7™, Egg™, and Swan™ chairs. The Series 7 is part of the Architecture and Design collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, an institution that houses various works by the designer.
