The purity of form and mastery of the potter’s wheel are two of the essential characteristics of Neus Segrià’s ceramics. In this piece, the artist focuses on a volume with a refined profile, broad shoulders, and a short neck, eschewing any added decoration. The surface, treated with a very subtle gradation of earthy and bluish-gray tones, reinforces the continuity of the form and highlights Segrià’s interest in the tactile and chromatic qualities of ceramic finishes—an area in which she engaged in constant experimentation. These characteristics are specifically highlighted in studies dedicated to her work.

Trained at the Escola Massana in Barcelona, Neus Segrià honed her wheel-throwing skills in the Sedó family’s workshop in Esparreguera and later worked with Antoni Cumella—an experience that was pivotal to her technical rigor and her research into glazes. Her career gained international recognition, with exhibitions in various European countries, Korea, and Argentina. In 2007, the Museu d’Art i Història de Reus dedicated a major retrospective to her titled *Neus Segrià. Ceramist. Craft and Creation, and her work is part of the collections of the Museu de Reus and the Art Collection of the Associació Ceramistes de Catalunya.
