Pair of wall sconces made of glazed Catalan ceramic and opaline glass, representative of the Mediterranean aesthetic that came to the forefront in the architecture and interior design of the Costa Brava during the 1960s and 1970s.The pieces feature a composition of great formal simplicity, centered around a square glazed ceramic panel in shades of green, with an irregular surface and handcrafted texture.
During the 1960s and 1970s, the Costa Brava became a major hub for architectural and decorative experimentation. The revival of traditional materials—particularly ceramics, wood, stone, and iron—coexisted with new forms of modern design, giving rise to interiors in which local craftsmanship took on a new meaning. In this context, ceramics ceased to be viewed solely as an ornamental material and became a fundamental element of architecture and interior design.
