Designed in 1969, these armchairs reflect Adalberto Dal Lago’s distinctive approach to natural materials within late-1960s Italian design. The woven wicker envelops a structure with rounded volumes and gently curved corners, while the large upholstered cushions provide a comfortable counterpoint to the regularity of the weave. The combination of modern geometry with a traditional basketry technique particularly defines the character of the set. Dal Lago also created wicker beds for the Italian firm, documented in Giuliana Gramigna’s collection.

Adalberto Dal Lago, an architect and designer trained at the Polytechnic University of Milan, worked across the fields of architecture, interior design, and industrial design. He also taught at the Polytechnic and edited specialized publications on architecture and design, in addition to collaborating as a designer and consultant with numerous Italian firms.
