BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
School of the 18th century.
"Bishop".
Carved and polychrome wood.
Wear and tear due to age, crackles and minor losses. The right hand is missing.
Measurements: 47 x 28 x 19 cm.
Baroque sculpture in carved wood representing with verism and naturalistic will a bishop, richly attired with tunic and mantle, touched with mitre and carrying a book in his hand. The tunic is undulated with vertical folds that enhance the play of chiaroscuro. It is a carving worked practically in round bulk, in the back of which there is a carved niche that can receive the relics.
