Pair of baroque child angels, dated in the XVII century, carved in wood in round bulk, completely gilded in their naked anatomies. They appear in a flying position, in graceful, elegant and naturalistic postures, balanced despite their dynamism. Both share their ethereal and plump appearance at the same time.
Throughout Europe, sculpture played an important role during the Baroque era. It appears in public spaces, in palaces and private residences, in churches and cathedrals, government buildings, among others, and also reflects a wide variety of subjects, from saints, popes and heroes to famous people, statesmen, mythological figures... Formally they are works of very free compositions, always marked by their dynamism and by a marked tendency to instability in the representation, in accordance with the taste for the curved line inherited from the Baroque.
