Wenceslao Jiménez began his studies in 1969 at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts of Granada, combining them with the workshop of the sculptor Miguel Moreno. After finishing his studies he traveled to Madrid in 1973 where he continued his training as an assistant in the workshop of sculptor Francisco Baron, also attending drawing classes at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in the capital. In 1981 he left Madrid to move to the town of La Torre de Esteban Hambrán in Toledo, where he established his foundry workshop. Throughout his career he has participated in numerous exhibitions both collective and individual and has also been awarded numerous prizes including the Silver Medal in 1990 of the Special Prize Caja de Guadalajara, in 1993 the National Sculpture Prize of Caja Madrid, in 1994 the Silver Lamp of the National Contest of Valdepeñas, in 1995 National Sculpture Prize in Villa de Parla and in 2009 International Sculpture Prize of the Foundation of the Arts and Artists) Musee Hofer-Bury. His work is distributed among various private collections and different artistic spaces of relevance such as the Musee Hofer-Bury in Motpellier, the Provincial Museum of Cuenca, the Provincial Museum of Albacete or the MAPFRE Foundation in Madrid.
