With this sculptural proposal, Elena Blasco poses a visual metaphor by tuning the bowling pieces into defensive weapons.

Spanish multidisciplinary artist who combines photography, painting and installation. With a subjective and ironic vision, she recreates everyday objects and supports to build a personal and unique identity in her works, in some cases making reference to gender violence and social injustices. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid in 1974, opting for painting as a specialty. He graduated in Photography and Decoration at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Madrid. He had his first exhibition in 1976, a decade in which conceptual experiences and political attitudes coexisted, together with the so-called 'new Madrid figuration' that claimed a return to painting and its expressive and conceptual potential. In the 90's his work began to be appreciated and entered collections and museums. His artistic trajectory concentrates very diverse works where the play of colors and techniques is characterized, combining photography, painting and installation. However, despite the casual and lively atmosphere that is created around his productions, the objective and background of his works is paradoxically radical in terms of the meanings he projects, questioning clichés and canonical prejudices of today's society. Addressing in several works debates on gender. "Women have never been paid attention to us, neither in art nor in anything else. That doesn't exist anymore, it won't be able to be anymore. Women of my age will not give us time to see real equality, much progress has been made but nothing for what we need." In her monographic exhibition "Millones y abundantes razones "6 7 8 in 2012 at the Sala Alcalá 31 of the Community of Madrid, curated by Alicia Murría, she presented hundreds of works that showed her recognizable and original imaginary. Since 2002 she has also been a teacher at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, and is a member of the Association of Women in the Visual Arts MAV. EXHIBITIONS, selection: 2016 "Por alegrías".
