A litter of bulldog puppies is being killed by one of them, turned into a serial killer from such an early age. Javier Aguilera invests here his humor and his hyperreal virtuosity to deploy a kind of cruel fable or horror gag, as a transcript of the endemic violence in modern societies. But if we pay attention to the title, it can also be read as a caustic commentary on the figure of the egomaniacal and deified artist, who, like Damien Hirst, has used stuffed animals to spectacularize philosophical themes linked to the concept of death.

Javier Aguilera highlights in his hyperrealist sculptures existential absurdities that draw from comics, anime, street art and, in general, life in the big city. Javier Aguilera's sculptures stand out at first for their technical virtuosity, but they contain a much broader message than what they apparently offer. Using the human body as an expressive vehicle and contemporary oriental symbolism, his figures confront the viewer with the dilemma of loneliness. A loneliness that in today's hyper-saturated context manifests itself, sometimes dramatically, sometimes ironically, openly showing its wounds. Beaten beings, anti-heroes who bleed, sweat and bite, questioning us about our own existence and our relationship with others.
