Kenichiro Taniguchi's abstract sculptures are inspired by the morphology of cities. His "Hecomi" evoke the cracks, breaks in the ground or other deformations of the urban pavement. Taniguchi investigates and precisely resembles these grooves and cracks in the surfaces of cities. His "Studies on the city" are based on the aerial perspective, a bird's eye view, from which he observes the extent of human activities, unlike the "Hecomi", in which he adopts the point of view at street level. These are two distinct but intertwined lines of work.
