Bronze sculpture to the wax loss that represents a gazelle in a realistic way. During the XIX and XX century the sculpture of animal thematic will reach finally an own status, inside the context of the romantic sculpture. Seeking to break away from the classical sculptural ideal, many artists saw in the animal theme a new way of expression, linked to the emotional and irrational nature, in a purely romantic sense. The piece follows the models of the famous sculptor Bugatti.
Rembrandt Bugatti (Milan, 1884 - Paris, 1916) was an Italian sculptor, known mainly for his bronze sculptures of wild animals. During World War I, he volunteered to do paramedic work in a military hospital in Antwerp, an experience that triggered a depression in Bugatti, aggravated by economic problems, which finally led him to commit suicide on January 8, 1916.
