The one we now bid on is a piece that embodies the creative freedom of Art Nouveau: this pewter vase captivates by its organic silhouette. It is distinguished by its flowing lines and motifs inspired by nature, becoming a decorative object that flows with elegance and sophistication.
Antoine Nelson comes from a family of sculptors. He was the son and pupil of Auguste Van Den Kerckhove. Active since 1880, he lived in London before settling in Paris from 1890 to 1910. Nelson is best known for his Art Nouveau female busts, but he also created decorative vases, sculptures and monuments.
