Sculpture in polychrome terracotta of a harlequin, the most recognized character of the comedy of art, theatrical genre that emerged in Italy in the XVI century, although its origin is in traditions of the Middle Ages.
Pedro Cantero was born in Santiago de las Vegas, Havana, Cuba, on June 19, 1962. He studied painting at the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts in that city and, as a self-taught artist, he furthered his training in sculpture and ceramics. His works are in private, permanent and institutional collections in more than 25 countries, and he is currently represented permanently at the National Museum of Contemporary Cuban Ceramics, where he has been recognized with several awards. He is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and the Cuban Association of Artisan Artists (ACAA).
