Tabletop vase in silver-plated pewter, Art Nouveau period, in the form of a baluster. The work is an exceptional example of the creative freedom of the period, where the human figure and natural elements merge to elevate a functional object to the category of art sculpture. Its complex relief decoration includes: a nude woman reclining at the bottom, above which hover cherubs and a small angel. The front features an astronomical motif with arrows, a crescent moon and clouds representing an eclipse. The reverse is adorned with a winged nymph and another cherub in relief.

The sculptor Charles Théodore Perron, known for his genre sculptures and Art Nouveau decorative elements, was a pupil of Falguière and other masters. Perron exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1895, garnering numerous awards, including an honorable mention (1896), successive medals (1897, 1899) and a first-class medal in 1910, as well as participating in the Universal Exposition of 1900.
