Buddha is presented seated in dhy?na-mudr? (meditation gesture) on a double lotus pedestal with a stepped square base richly decorated with floral and architectural motifs. His serene face is framed by tight shell-like curls and crowned by a domed ushnisha. He holds a small offering bowl in his left hand, while his right hand rests in a meditative attitude.
Behind the figure rises a tall almond-shaped flaming mandorla (k?hai), pierced in great detail to symbolize the radiance of enlightenment.
