DESCRIPTION
ALBERT FERAUD (France, 1921 - 2008)
"Couple".
Stainless steel.
Signed on the base.
Measurements: 56 x 15 x 7 cm.
Abstract sculpture of strong verticality, in which two elongated forms are articulated in a tense and balanced dialogue. The work stands out for the direct treatment of steel, where folds, cuts and welds remain visible as part of the expressive language. In Pareja, Féraud conceives the human figure in an allusive way, reduced to a formal synthesis that emphasizes the relationship between mass, rhythm and space, characteristic features of his mature sculptural production.
Albert Féraud began his training at the School of Fine Arts in Montpellier in 1940. He then extended his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. In 1951 he won the Grand Prix de Rome for Sculpture, and from 1960 onwards his work became more and more abstract. A member of the French Academy of Fine Arts since 1989, during his career Féraud held more than two hundred exhibitions all over the world. He has several monuments in France, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States, and is represented in public and private collections around the world.
