DESCRIPTION

Fréderic Minne offers us a feminine face of classic style and refined lines. The face is serene and symmetrical, with softly modeled features, the piece conveys balance, sobriety and an aesthetic close to the Art Deco taste or to the modern reinterpretation of classicism.

Frédéric Minne was a designer and decorator active mainly in Antwerp throughout the twentieth century. He belonged to a prominent family of artists: he was the grandson of the famous symbolist sculptor George Minne (1866-1941) and son of the sculptor Frédéric Minne (1879-1958). Unlike his predecessors, he oriented his career towards furniture design and interior decoration, developing a production linked first to late Art Deco and later to a more modern and refined language. His work is characterized by a special attention to the quality of materials and formal elegance, in harmony with the Belgian decorative tradition. He participated in the artistic and decorative environment of Antwerp in the mid-twentieth century, maintaining the family link with the sculptural field, but adapted to the new sensibilities of interior design.
