This piece belongs to Joan Brossa's series of object-poems, one of the artist's most singular contributions to European conceptual art. The work presents a large-format egg, divided into two halves, on whose surface appears the inscription "Ou amb dos rovells" ("Egg with two yolks"), a linguistic game that transforms an everyday object into a poetic artifact charged with irony and reflection.

The egg -a universal symbol of origin, fertility and potentiality- becomes the vehicle for a conceptual game characteristic of the artist, where language, object and meaning are combined in a visual paradox. The apparent formal simplicity of the piece responds to Brossa's desire to reveal the extraordinary in the everyday, inviting the viewer to reconsider the usual meanings of words and things.

A central figure of the Catalan avant-garde, Joan Brossa was a founding member of the Dau al Set group along with Antoni Tàpies, Joan Ponç and Modest Cuixart, among others.

His work has been the subject of numerous retrospective exhibitions in international institutions, and is preserved in museums such as the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, the MACBA - Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, the Fundació Joan Brossa, the IVAM in Valencia or the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), among others.
