DESCRIPTION
YVES LOHÉ (France, 1947)
"Violin".
Illuminated sculpture.
Vitreous paste, bronze and metal.
Signed.
Measurements: 43,5 x 22 x 14 cm.
Illuminated tabletop sculpture by Yves Lohé, French artist known for his compositions in bronze and vitreous paste. The piece represents a stylized violin, resolved by means of a body of vitreous paste of translucent effects and blue, white and amber chromatism, to which is superimposed a golden metallic structure that evokes the instrument, the bow and ornamental elements of dynamic character.
The ensemble stands out for the fusion between sculptural object and luminous element, characteristic of Lohé's decorative production. The metal base provides stability and material contrast, while the worked glass introduces visual depth and play of light. Because of its musical theme, its expressive workmanship and its marked ornamental character, it is a representative piece of the artist's language.
Yves Lohé is a contemporary French sculptor born in 1947, known for his works in bronze and vitreous paste. After beginning his career in wrought iron, in the late seventies he turned his work towards bronze, developing a decorative language centered on themes such as music, dance, the human figure and animals. His sculptures of instruments and musicians constitute one of his most recognizable series.
