Apel-les Fenosa condenses in small format an image of great delicacy and poetic presence. The female face, slightly inclined, conveys a serene and introspective attitude, far from the descriptive portrait and close to an essentialized idea of the figure.

The modeling of the bronze combines softness and material vibration: the features appear refined, while the hair and the base of the neck retain a more lively texture, with traces of manual labor. This contrast between polished surfaces and rough areas gives expressive depth to the piece and reinforces its intimate character.

Apel-les Fenosa was one of the most outstanding Catalan sculptors of the 20th century. Settled in Paris at a young age, he was linked to the artistic environment of the French capital and maintained a relationship with figures such as Picasso, Cocteau, Éluard and Supervielle. His work, with a marked Mediterranean sensibility, is represented in institutions such as the Fundació Apel-les Fenosa in El Vendrell, the MNAC in Barcelona, the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid and various international museums and collections.
