This piece shows the plastic maturity reached by the artist in the last decades of his career. The sculpture, conceived from a rigorous geometric organization and a refined formal economy, synthesizes many of the aesthetic concerns that defined Rueda's production. From a first visual approach, Constructivo reveals a composition articulated by means of metallic planes, cylindrical volumes and curved elements arranged on a vertical surface. The work is organized through an architectural logic where each fragment seems to respond to a precise internal structure. However, far from transmitting rigidity, the composition maintains a delicate visual dynamism thanks to the play of rhythms, diagonals and volumetric hallmarks.
The title of the work is particularly revealing. With Constructive, Rueda alludes directly to the constructivist tradition and to the conception of the work of art as a rationally organized object. The influence of movements such as Russian constructivism, neoplasticism and certain currents of European geometric abstraction can be perceived in the structural clarity of the piece. However, the artist reinterprets these languages through a deeply poetic and personal sensibility. In this sense, Rueda's geometry is never cold or purely mathematical, but a means to generate visual harmonies and emotional resonances.
