Expressiveness, balance, proportion, and harmony are concepts that emanate from these meticulously crafted sculptures, which allegorically celebrate the human anatomy. Working exclusively in terracotta, Rosa Martínez embodies the paradigm of the Mediterranean figure so championed by the Novecentists. With admirable technique, she depicts a serene and steadfast couple, with generous yet graceful forms, while exuding a hidden and introspective inner strength. Her work is held in the Frederic Marés Museum in Barcelona and at the Vila Casas Foundation.
