BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

MAX VALENTIN (1875–1931).
"Female Figure."
Bronze.
Signed.
Measurements: 33 cm; 39 cm (height with base)

The piece is firmly situated at the transition from Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) to Art Deco. The nude female figure adopts a graceful and harmonious dancing pose, with her arms outstretched in a fluid movement that suggests elegance, rhythm, and lightness. The artist demonstrates great mastery in the simplification of anatomical forms, maintaining a smooth and stylized surface. The face, with its hair styled in a classic updo, reflects an idealized serenity typical of European sculpture from the early decades of the 20th century.
