A renowned sculptor and architect from Madrid, Antonio Coello de Portugal creates works primarily featuring animal subjects—including horses at rest or in motion, military and sporting motifs, purebred dogs, and more. He prefers small-scale bronze, a material in which he creates works rich in detail and expressive in gesture and movement. He has created monumental sculptures such as “The Angler” in Pechón, Cantabria, the town where he currently lives and works. He is also the creator of the statuettes awarded by the Association of Parliamentary Journalists.
